A fine art wedding photographer serving Maryland and beyond, I use film and digital photography to create beautiful, timeless images for those who value the candid and composed, authentic and romantic, and are simply excited to be married.
I'm Megan, a film & digital wedding photographer based in Maryland. My love for photographing started a while ago but I didn't take too many photos until I found myself living on the west coast. Experiencing new places had me wanting to document everything, from the places I was visiting to the amazing landscapes that were everywhere I turned (and suddenly I had a new love for traveling, too)!
While in college working on my degree in Fine Art Photography, I started a business that grew into serving clients who were just as passionate about the things I am, like nature, artful design, history, the value of timeless looking images, and capturing couples for who they are as people and the raw, real moments between them.
This is what I am about and what I love. There aren't any techniques or special tricks; it's just the magic that happens when you bring people together and make something beautiful.
I stand for the romantics and old souls at heart who value family, friends, the authentic and intimate, and who occasionally have a taste for adventure! When it comes to their wedding day, they have a unique vision true to who they are, full of intention and details, and are ready to create lasting memories with everyone around them.
I believe in capturing your day as it was, from the romantic moments to the wild nights, in the most natural and fun ways; beautiful candids, sometimes posed, but all the while true to you. This is your story and celebration that is just beginning!
There may be a year or so from your initial inquiry to delivering your wedding gallery, but throughout this process, what I enjoy most is getting to know my couples for who they are, being a positive light on their wedding day, and assisting them in any way I can to ensure their best day ever truly is one to remember.
I'm a hybrid photographer, meaning I shoot with both digital and film, and love bringing both of these mediums into sessions and wedding days to create timeless, luminous, beautifully colored images that continue to glow through generations.
Each wedding collection includes at least 8 hours of coverage, an engagement session, second photographer, and an online gallery that can be shared and downloaded. After your initial inquiry, I love scheduling a phone call to get to know more about you and your day! Learn more about collections by reaching out below.
I somehow never really made it to SoCal when I lived in the Sacramento area a few years ago, and when the opportunity came up to travel there in March of 2020, I said yes in an instant. On my first day in San Diego, I met up with one of my past couples at La Jolla Beach who were married in the fall of 2019 in Maryland but were out establishing their roots out on the west coast (or so I thought)!
After spending some time all together, I learned they were planning to move back home to Maryland, and it had me reflecting on the time I traveled to California too only to have home call me back again a couple years later. I realized these images would have more of a story – some of the last times visiting the ocean, running carefree along the sand, and for these two, some of the last months before welcoming a new baby boy, too! I’ll always be amazed at the ways each session holds memories for me, and being by the water with two of the sweetest people I’ve met is what I’ll remember most.
On a day that felt more like a summer one than fall (it was probably nearing 75 degrees in late November!) I met up with Zoe, Hunter, and their adorable pups for a session at Adkins Arboretum, one of my favorite nature spots on the Eastern Shore. They are planning to get married later this year, and it was so wonderful to finally meet them and photograph their little family! To say I’m excited for their June wedding is simply an understatement, and in the mean time, I will just reflect back to these moments until summer rolls around!
It’s still hard to believe we have a semi normal summer at all, yet through the hard times comes a light, and I’m so happy so many of us can be back doing the things we love! Samantha and Billy’s engagement session was the best way to get back to work, and spending the evening at Butterbee Farm was just as much fun! With summer scents in the air and buds having bloomed, everything about this gorgeous farm seemed to welcome us with a warm embrace, thankful for new guests to be amongst the flowers.
You always get excited when a family member get’s engaged, and when they ask you to photograph their wedding, it is so hard to say no, especially when they have been one of your biggest supporters from the beginning of your business journey. That’s why when Lindsay and Scott told me they had to have me as their photographer, I was completely overcome with joy and knew this was going to be an unforgettable day for so many reasons!
I’m the oldest sibling in my family, but as I grew up and we got closer, Lindsay felt like the older sister I never had. It was easy to come to her for anything, and a few years ago when she began to bring up Scott in conversations, I had a feeling he wasn’t just another guy. Visiting him for extended weekends while he was stationed out in Colorado turned into moving in together when he finally got the news he was going back home – and of course adding a puppy named Barley to their crew! There was never a doubt that they were the ones for each other, and while Lindsay knew a proposal might happen some time soon, she was completely surprised when Scott got down on one knee at their neighborhood beach. She FaceTimed me that huge ring, and I had all the happy tears for the both of them and their newest journey.
Reflecting back on their wedding day, I love all the memories that were made with my family, and the new ones they will have as a family of their own. Welcome to the family, Scott!
