An Eastern Shore Affair: I Do on the Chesapeake Bay

July 8, 2019

You always get excited when a family member get’s engaged, and when they ask you to photograph their wedding, it is so hard to say no, especially when they have been one of your biggest supporters from the beginning of your business journey. That’s why when Lindsay and Scott told me they had to have me as their photographer, I was completely overcome with joy and knew this was going to be an unforgettable day for so many reasons!

I’m the oldest sibling in my family, but as I grew up and we got closer, Lindsay felt like the older sister I never had. It was easy to come to her for anything, and a few years ago when she began to bring up Scott in conversations, I had a feeling he wasn’t just another guy. Visiting him for extended weekends while he was stationed out in Colorado turned into moving in together when he finally got the news he was going back home – and of course adding a puppy named Barley to their crew! There was never a doubt that they were the ones for each other, and while Lindsay knew a proposal might happen some time soon, she was completely surprised when Scott got down on one knee at their neighborhood beach. She FaceTimed me that huge ring, and I had all the happy tears for the both of them and their newest journey.

Reflecting back on their wedding day, I love all the memories that were made with my family, and the new ones they will have as a family of their own. Welcome to the family, Scott!
